After tonight’s Inter-League Challenge fixture at Sheffield the Paul Chapman and Sons Lions are straight into the first of their twenty-eight Elite League fixtures with a visit to Coventry tomorrow.
Leicester’s Midland neighbours were one of the early pacesetters in 2015 as results from the first twelve matches gleaned nine wins and an away consolation bonus point. Such form had the Bees down as early play-off candidates and although their form wavered slightly as the campaign unfolded they maintained their position at the top end to finish second behind Poole in the final Elite League table. The two teams met in the semi-finals but their winning streak deserted them as the Dorset club progressed through to the final.
Meanwhile Team Manager Norrie Allan is hoping that his riders can reproduce the same form that gained the club two away wins out of the last three fixtures at the end of last season which lifted Leicester up to sixth place in the final Elite League table.
A full match preview of the return fixture against Coventry at the Beaumont Park Stadium on Saturday will be posted tomorrow.
